2. Safety instructions
2.1 Designated use
The LTIC107E/D is a monitoring module for AC IT systems respectively 3NAC IT systems in
accordance with IEC 60364-7-710: 2002-11.
The module is intended to be used in medical locations to:
monitor the insulation resistance in the IT system,
monitor the load current and temperature of isolating transformers for IT systems.
In order to fulfil all requirements of the respective standards, in any case an on-site param-
eterization is required, to adapt the module to the local installation conditions.
In addition, it may be used in a non-medical environment, provided that the application is
agreed with BENDER well ahead of time.
Observe the limits to the scope of application that are specified in the technical data. Any
other or additional use is considered contrary to the designated use.
Use in accordance with the intended purpose also includes:
Installation-specific settings in accordance with IEC 60364-7-710: 2002-11
Observance of all instructions in the operating manual
Observance of the inspection intervals
2.2 Skilled personnel
Only suitably qualified personnel may work on BENDER equipment. Qualified means being
familiar with the installation, commissioning and operation of the equipment with training
appropriate to the work. Personnel must have read this manual and understood all of the
instructions relating to safety.

Individual settings are necessary to adapt the MEDICS module to the existing sys-
tem. Please observe the instructions in chapter 5. "Commissioning, settings and
verification"‚ page 25.
