Description of the system
3.3.1
The functions of LTIC107E/D:
Insulation monitoring
Insulation monitoring continuously measures the insulation state of AC IT systems. The mon-
itored system may also contain DC components. Adaptation to the system leakage capaci-
tance is carried out automatically.
Load current monitoring
Load current measurement is carried out by a current transformer STW2.
Temperature monitoring
The 107DT47 measures the transformer temperature by means of a PTC thermistor (or break
contacts) integrated into the windings of the IT system transformer.
Evaluation
If one of the measured values is not within the set response value, an alarm (collective alarm)
will occur. At the 107TD47 the „ALARM" LED is illuminated, the alarm relay is switched and
the fault is indicated on the display. Via BMS bus the alarm is transferred to other BENDER
devices e.g. remote alarm indicator and operator panels.
Power supply unit
The integrated power supply unit AN450 supplies an output voltage of 20 V AC, which is
sufficient to supply up to three MK2418 or two MK2430 alarm indicator and test combina-
tions.
3.3.2
System application
The LTIC107E/D is not a switchover module. In most cases, LTIC107E/D modules are in-
stalled downstream of a central switchover and monitoring system, such as the following

3.3.3
Monitoring of device functions
An alarm must be activated in case of PE or system connection interruption.
In addition, the module continuously monitors:
the operating paths of the switching elements (coil, relay contacts, connections),
important connecting cables, like
– current transformer
– temperature sensor.
