4.3 Connection instructions

4.3.1

Temperature sensor

The BENDER transformers for IT systems are equipped according to their insulation class
with the necessary temperature sensors. Connect these temperature sensors (maximum six
sensors in series) to the terminals X3:35 and X3:36.
4.3.2

Alarm indicator and test combination

Ex factory, the following terminal pairs are provided for the connection of BMS-compatible
devices:
X3:29 and X3:30
X3:31 and X3:32
Alarm indicator and test combinations, operator panels or other bus-compatible BENDER de-
vices can be connected.
1. A BMS device or an existing BMS bus with several devices is connected to the terminals X3:29
and X3:30.
– The last device at the other end of the bus must be terminated with a 120 Ω resistor.
– The terminals X3:31 and X3:32 remains terminated.
2. An existing BMS bus already terminated at both ends is separated. One open part is connected
to the terminals X3:29 and X3:30, the other one to the terminals X3:31 and X3:32. The 120 Ω ter-
minating resistor installed at factory has to be removed, the open bus parts have to be connec-
ted to the respective terminals..
For wiring details, please refer to the „BMS bus" instruction leaflet.
A maximum of 3 MK2418 or 2 MK2430 alarm indicator and test combinations can be supplied
by the AN450 power supply unit. Please observe the documentation of the respective devic-
es. AN450 cannot be used for the power supply of TM operator panels.
4.3.3

Central Process Control/Building System Control

If alarm messages from the switchover and monitoring module UMC107E-...-041 are to be
transferred to a Building System Control or a Central Process Control, the following possibil-
ities exist:
Gateways
OPC server (OPC = OLE for Process Control)
Collective alarm via the relay output of Isometer 107TD47
Indication via an interconnected signal converter SMO480-12 or SMO482-12. The SMO480-12
resp. SMO482-12 converts serial signals from BENDER devices into floating relay contact signals.
