ple, as a result of the measures taken.
The condition of the radial shaft sealing rings should be
checked at every maintenance at least and be in an impec-

cable condition.
5.4 Fine Filters
The extent of contamination on the fi lter mats should be
checked at regular intervals depending on the operating/am-
bient conditions and the environmental protection guidelines
if necessary. i.e. the permeability of the fi lters must be guar-
anteed by the machine operator.
5.5 ATEX Impeller
The balance state as well as the axial and radial run-out of
the impeller must not deteriorate as a result of the mainte-
nance/servicing, repair or replacement of components.
The impeller should be replaced at the latest when there are
clearly discernible vibrations/oscillations or signifi cant me-
chanical wear or damage is detected.
Use a suitable tool to remove the impeller. There are grooves
or a fi xing thread on the impeller hub for a tool of this kind.
The impeller must be fi tted to the shaft without it experienc-
ing any knocks or bumps.
5.6 ATEX Motors
ATEX motors can only be replaced as complete units. Re-
pairs to the ATEX motors used must be carried out exclu-
sively by the manufacturer themselves in accordance with
EN ISO 60079.
5.7 Cleaning
Cleaning or maintenance must not lead to damage or modi-
fi cations to the device and its components that would infl u-
ence safety or health protection and, for example, impair the
balanced state of the impeller.
No agents/tools are to be used for cleaning purposes that
may lead to an electrostatic charge or any other type of safe-
ty hazard.
5.8 Repair and Replacement of Components on Elektror
ATEX Products
When using spare or accessory parts for our explosion-proof

blowers, we draw your attention to the regulations within the
EU or the appropriate national regulations, which must be
strictly observed. These are in particular the requirements
of the TRBS 1201-3 and §14 (6) of the German Ordinance
on Industrial Safety and Health (BetrSichV) in the territory of
the Federal Republic of Germany. Relevant guidelines and
provisions corresponding to these regulations, which must
be observed on an equal footing, apply in all member states
in the EU.
Outside the European Union, customers, distributors and
machine operators must comply with the laws, regulations
and statutory provisions that are applicable at the location
at which the respective Elektror ATEX product is operated.

We will send you a competent analysis of its technical con-
dition including a recommendation on the most appropriate
course of action. We will supply you with information on how
the product can be returned in an optimum condition. We will
offer you a new unit suited to your application if the further
operation or repair of the product is not recommended.
Alternatively, you also have the option to arrange for our
service contract partners to repair or replace components in
Germany and several other countries in Europe. Please ask
our Product management team for the options in the target
country (support@elektror.de).
These service partners have an existing contractual relation-
ship with Elektror and are trained in the repair of our ATEX
blowers. Our service partners rigorously comply with the
ATEX regulations applicable throughout the EU, but also the
intrinsic manufacturer-specifi c guidelines that we apply to
our ATEX products to increase safety.
Deviations from one of the procedures intended to maintain
safety, health protection or explosion protection may lead to
loss of the warranty and the assumption of liability on the part
of Elektror.
Delivery of spare parts
Please always specify the serial number of the Elektror ATEX
product in question whenever you need spare parts. You will
fi nd this on the rating plate of the blower housing.

DECOMMISSIONING AND
DISMANTLING
The disconnection of all electrical connections and any other
electrical work in connection with decommissioning must
only be carried out by a qualifi ed electrician.
The device should be dismantled only when all rotating parts
have come to a standstill and cannot be restarted.
The guidelines set out in 2.1 Transport and Handling must be
observed when dismantling and removing it.
Treat the device as industrial waste when disposing of it.
The device parts are made of recyclable material, such as
aluminium, (stainless) steel, copper and plastic. However,
there are components that need special treatment (e.g. fre-
quency converters). The statutory national and local disposal
and recycling regulations must be observed.

7 LIABILITY AND DISCLAIMER

The machine operator shall bear the responsibility for the
correct use of the device.
Elektror shall not accept any liability for any use of its prod-
ucts and components which is contrary to their intended use.
This shall also apply in particular to use in special applica-
tions and under operating conditions that have not been spe-
cifi cally agreed with Elektror.
Elektror shall accept no liability for any modifi cations or al-
terations to the device or accessories supplied.
Likewise, Elektror shall not be liable for improper, delayed,
neglected maintenance. Neither shall it be liable for any
cleaning and repair work not carried out by qualifi ed Elektror
specialists, nor for the possible consequences.
