1 INFORMATION ON THE MACHINE
You can fi nd our address on the cover sheet.
Please refer to the declaration of incorporation according to
Appendix II 1 B for the scope of application of these operat-
ing and assembly instructions.
The technical data shown on page 24 applies to the stand-
ard model. Your blower can vary from this (see the rating
plate). In this case, please observe the general applicable
documentation also supplied or the current individual operat-
ing and assembly instructions.
Rating plate
The serial number of the device and its year of manufacture
can also be found on the blower rating plate. Electrical data
can be found on the motor rating plate. The blower rating
14
plate is valid for the entire blower. The motor rating plate is
subordinate to this.
Sample rating plate:
1.1 Intended Use
The operation of an explosion-proof Elektror blower in ac-
cordance with Directive 2014/34/EC is only permitted in
countries or economic regions in which this directive is valid
or without restrictions, and is legally recognised.
Alterations and modifi cations to the blower placed on the
market are not permitted.
The devices outlined in these operating and assembly in-
structions correspond to the category, ignition protection
type, temperature class etc. indicated on the device rating
plate.
The device categories are listed below in accordance with
ATEX:
Category 3G
The devices are designed and constructed in order to
prevent ignition sources during normal operation in areas
where an explosion hazard exists due to gas (G).
Category 3D
The devices are designed and constructed in order to
prevent ignition sources during normal operation in areas
where an explosion hazard exists due to dust (D).
Category 2G
The devices are designed and constructed in order to
prevent ignition sources, including in the event of equipment
faults, in areas where an explosion hazard exists due to gas
EPL (Equipment Protection Level)
G
area at risk of gas explosions
D
area at risk of dust explosions
Gb:
Equipment with a high protection level for use in areas at
risk of gas explosions.
There is no ignition risk during normal operation or in the
case of expected faults.
Gc / Dc:
Equipment with an enhanced protection level for use in
areas at risk of gas / dust explosions.
There is no ignition risk during normal operation or in the
case of expected faults due to additional protective meas-
ures.
The devices may be suitable for their intended use in
one of the following potentially explosive atmospheres
in accordance with the information on the rating plates
(exact defi nition: see EN 1127-1):
Zone 2 / 22
Areas in which an explosive atmosphere consisting of gases,
vapours, mist or air mixtures are unlikely to occur during nor-
mal operation. If they do occur however, then in all probability
they will occur rarely and for a short time.
Zone 1
Areas in which an explosive atmosphere consisting of a mix-
ture of air, gases, vapours, mist or air mixtures are likely to
occur occasionally during normal operation.
Equipment group II
Electrical equipment for areas not endangered by fi redamp
(other than mining).
Explosion groups
The following ATEX fans are available in the following ex-
plosion groups:
