PYROS Temperaturkalibratoren
MANUAL
PYROS Dry Block Temperature Calibrators
4. Posi oning of temperature probes in the dry block of the instrument
WARNING!
!
The configura on (factory defaults) are password protected. For any access or
modifica on see chapter 10. Do NOT change these parameters, to avoid malfunc on
or breaking of the instrument, with risk of serious personal injury.
Notes for good posi oning of temperature probes:
• Measure the diameter of the temperature probe.
• The diameter of the drilling in the dry block must be a
li le bit higher than the temperature probe's diameter
(see Fig. 1), as follows:

0.5 mm at probe diameter 4.5...8 mm (max. 600°C)
0.7 mm at probe diameter 8...12 mm (max. 600°C)
1.0 mm at probe diameter 12...17 mm (max. 600°C)
Reduce the mm-difference, if the opera on temperature
range is below 300°C.
• Use well inserts with suitable drillings/holes for your
temperature probes.
• Avoid using holes which are too small in diamter, never
use any force for inser ng the probe into the drilling/hole.
• Clean temperature probe and dry block insert before inser on.
• Insert the temperature probe only at ambient temperature.
For removing an insert use the supplied tweezers.
• Insert the probe as much down down to the bo om of
the block as possible. The sensi ve element of the probe
should be in the calibra on zone (see Fig. 3 on next page).
• If you use an external reference probe, take care that
the posi on of both probes is similar, at the same
inser on depth (Fig. 2), and as close together as possible.
The posi on of the internal reference sensor is shown
in Fig. 3 on the next page.
• Always verify the temperature range of the probes to
be calibrated before using. The maximum temperature
of the probes should be higher than the temperature
of the block, otherwise the probe could break.
