by skilled personnel who have the qualifica ons described below.

Skilled personnel
Skilled personnel are understood to be personnel who, based on their technical training,
knowledge of measurement and control technology and on their experience and knowledge of
country-specific regula ons, current standards and direc ves, are capable of carrying out the
work described and independently recognising poten al hazards.
2.3 Personal protec ve equipment (P.P.E.)
The personal protec ve equipment is designed to protect the skilled personnel from hazard that
could impair their safety or health during work. When carrying out the various tasks on and with
the instrument, the skilled personnel must wear personal protec ve equipment.
Follow the instruc ons, displayed in the work area, regarding personal protec ve equipment!
The required personal protec ve equipment must be proveded by the opera ng company.
2.4 Special hazards

To ensure safe working on the instrument, the opera ng company must ensure
• that suitable first-aid equipment is available and aid is provided whenever required.
• that the opera ng personnel are regularly instructed in all topics regarding work
safety, first aid and environmental protec on and knows the opera ng instruc ons
and, in par cular, the safety instruc ons contained therein.
2.5 Instrument specific hazards

• Because the instrument is a portable calibrator to be used in the field, it is very
important to ensure that the socket has been earthen correctly when connec ng it
to the electricity supply.
• The instrument must be switched off and cooled to a low temperature before any
a empt to service the instrument is made.
• Never connect the switch test connec on (4) and the RS232 (1) input to a voltage
source.
• Do not connect any voltage during the test of thermostats.
• Remove the fuse (3) from the instrument only when the power cable has been
disconnected.
