IO-Link interface

5.1
IO-Link data
Due to its compact design, the BLA16 can only be para-
meterised and read out via IO-Link.
The characteristic parameters of the interface are:
Data transfer rate
Minimum cycle time
Process data length
IO-Link Revision
Frame type
5.2

Process data

For continuous data transmission, 14 bytes of process
data (PDI) are transmitted:
No.

Bitmask
The analog output values are in µm, the value range here
is from 0 to 16256, which corresponds to the active
measuring range of the sensor.
The object output value gives the number of the detected
object. (0: no object; 1-6: detected objects; 7: unknown
object).
If the mode objects counting or slits counting is selected,
the number of detected objects, up to a maximum of 16,
is output in the object output value.
If activated, the counter status of the corresponding
sequential counter is output in the corresponding counter
output value.
If analog output, object detection or counter are deactiva-
ted, the corresponding output values are set to 0.
Several status messages are output simultaneously in
variable no. 6:
Bit 3 or bit 4 indicates whether the counter 1 or counter 2
has reached the set limit.
Bit 6 indicates whether autoblanking was activated during
the last teach event.
If no light arrives at the receiver, bit 7 is set to 1. With this,
a completely blocked light band can be detected.

Data invalid
The device cannot distinguish whether the light
band is completely blocked or whether the laser
has failed or is not plugged in.
In addition to the PDI, there is a PDO value:
No.

This value can be used to reset the sequential counter to
0. This happens when the value is changed from 0 to 1.
