About this guide

This manual contains operating instructions and technical
documentation for the emitter and receiver of the Balluff
Light Array BLA with IO-Link BLA 16C-002-00,25-S75.
All specifications in this operating manual, especially the
safety instructions, must be strictly observed.
The guide is intended for qualified technical personnel.
Read this guide before you install and operate the Light
Array. This manual is to be stored so that it is always
accessible.

Laser class

This device is laser class 1. It is certified according to
DIN EN 60825-1:2015-07.
The laser source inside the sensor housing is class 2
(1 mW output power). The sensor housing is completely
sealed and the laser light is attenuated by the optics inside
so that no radiation in class 2 intensity can be emitted. The
laser emission wavelength is 650nm (red light). The laser
works with pulsed operation (1:1 on/off ratio). The pulse
duration is between 0.5 ms and 50 ms. The typical output
power while laser is on is 220 µW.

Approvals and markings

The CE Mark verifies that our products
meet the requirements of the current EU
Directive (EMC Directive).
The devices comply with the EMC requirements of product
standards EN 60947-5-2 and EN 60947-5-7.
More detailed information on the guidelines,
approvals, and standards is included in the
declaration of conformity.
