Installation
Mounting instructions
Install the devices solidly on a stable, vibration-free
holder.
Be sure that the orientation of the devices cannot
change during startup or in normal operation.
Especially the emitter and receiver must not be
permitted to move relative to each other, since
otherwise incorrect measurements and failed object
detection can result.
Locate the devices where they are protected against
the accumulation of dust, dirt or liquids.
Do not install the devices in a location where they are
exposed to direct sunlight or strong ambient light,
since excessive ambient light can result in faulty
measurements.
The device can be installed horizontally or vertically.
Fastening options:
Custom fastening system
M4 screws are used for fastening. Use either two of the
three through holes on the top side (horizontal distance 35
mm, vertical distance 27 mm) or the two threaded holes
(depth 6 mm; distance 25 mm).
Mounting brackets from Balluff
The supplied stainless steel mounting brackets (BAM0362)
allow flexible positioning and easy alignment of transmitter
and receiver via slotted holes.

Electrical connections

Transmitter and receiver must be connected with a 4-pole
cable (all wires normally connected 1:1). The transmitter
has a pigtail cable with plug M8 (male) and the receiver has
a socket M8 (female) on the remote plug unit.

A 4-pin M8 male plug is provided on the remote connector
unit of the receiver for power supply and data output.

Mounting tolerances

To achieve the best possible results, do not exceed the
following positioning tolerances:
Maximum permissible offset is ±1.5 mm for vertical offset
and ±1 mm for lateral offset.
