Installing the reversing video system
➤ Secure the camera loosely with the two screws M4 x 10 mm (fig. u,
page 12).
Note
Do not tighten the screws until you have aligned the camera (see
chapter "Aligning the camera" on page 66).
But you first need to install and establish the electrical connection
for the entire reversing video system.
Establishing the electrical connection for the camera
An overview of the reversing video system can be found in fig. w, page 13.
➤ Lay the camera cable into the vehicle interior.
➤ Connect a system cable plug to the camera cable.
➤ Connect the other system cable plug to the socket "CAMERA 1" on the
connection box.
Tip!
To minimise corrosion in the plug, apply a small amount of grease
– such as terminal grease – in one of the plugs.
Caution!
The plug connections of the extension cable do not offer any
protection against water penetration. It is essential that you wrap
the connections with sealing tape (fig. d B, page 8). The most
suitable tape for this is self-vulcanising tape, e. g. from 3M.
Aligning the camera
➤ Engage reverse gear.
✓ The monitor image should show the rear or the bumper of the vehicle at
the bottom edge of the screen (fig. v A, page 13). The middle of the
bumper should be in the middle of the screen.
➤ The correct setting can be attained by turning the camera in the camera
holder (fig. v B, page 13).
➤ Once you have adjusted the camera correctly, tighten the two screws that
attach the camera to the camera holder.
