Starting the function test with a permanent magnet:
1. Set DIL switch 1 to the OFF position (reed contact active).
2. Hold a permanent magnet at the location of the built-in reed contact in the detector housing.
3. After approx. 2 seconds the yellow fault indicator switch on.
4. Pull the magnet away from the detector housing. The yellow fault indicator goes off. The red
alarm indicator and the external PDI are switched on.
5. In the case of two-alarm dependency, repeat the process with the second detector.
Inspecting message transmission:
6. Check the triggering of the detector and proper display at the fire alarm control panel or
display equipment.
Finishing the test:
7. Bring the magnet next to the detector housing and hold it in position.
8. After approx. 2 seconds, the detector switches off the red alarm indicator as well as the
external PDI and the yellow fault indicator switches on.
9. Pull the magnet away from the detector housing. The yellow fault indicator goes off.
10. In the case of two-alarm dependency, also repeat the process with the second detector.
The function test is only possible (during normal operation) while the detector is in
proper working condition.
