The plug-in testing connections must be
plugged in correctly. If plug-in connections
specific to the vehicle and /or adapter lines
are not available and if the testing
connecting is executed with plug-in
connections of standard model (e.g.: set of
test cables 1 687 011 208), you must then
pay attention to get a firmly position so that
vibrations cannot

Never carry out test connectings
without the adapted or corre-
sponding connecting elements.
Never use pins, paper clips or
similar accessories because the
risks of accidents increase and,
eventually, the control units or
computers might be destroyed.
Constituents of exhaust gases:
The exhaust gases of cars contain toxic
constituents (e.g.: the odorless carbon
monoxide). In closed rooms, the suction
system must be switched on and
connected to avoid a poisoning. Some
constituents are heavier than the air.
Therefore, you must pay attention
especially during workings in pits. That is
the reason why you must secure a good
ventilation or suction.

Rotating Parts:

When the engine is running, you might be
injured by the rotating parts. This can also
occur when the engine does not run and the
ignition system is switched off under certain
conditions if the fans of the cooling system
are driven by an electric motor.

Hot Parts:
In the engine compartment especially on
the side of the exhaust gases some
components can reach temperatures of
several hundreds of degrees Celsius (front
pipes of exhaust gases, turbochargers,
Lambda sensor, etc.). Therefore, danger of
burn!
Vehicle:
Be sure that the vehicle does not move
during the test, e.g.: pull then the hand
brake, on the cars with automatic gearbox,
shift the gear on the position "P" (= parking)
or lock up the wheels with stop blocks.
