General warnings of Promass 63
• Mounting, electrical installation, commissioning and maintenance are to be carried
out by qualified personnel only who are also trained in explosion protection.
• All national regulations concerning the installation of instruments in explosion
hazardous areas must be observed.
• It is only permitted to open the instrument when no explosive atmosphere is
present, or after power has been removed.
• Note that the Rackbus meets the applicable hazardous area regulations.
Other instruments connected to the bus can limit the maximum number of connec-
ted instruments. Consult the special Rackbus Ex documentation.
Special conditions for Promass 63
1. All national regulations governing installation and operation regulations are to be
observed when mounting this electrical device in an explosion hazardous area
(Cat. II3G/Zone 2).
2. Before switching on the device, ensure that the local power supply complies with
the range stated on the nameplate.
3. Repairs (e.g. changing the fuse or electronics unit) may only be carried out when
circuits are not alive.
4. All technical data issued by the manufacturer are to be observed.
5. Only cable entries are to be used which comply with Category II3G/Zone 2
standards.
Special conditions for Procom DZL 363
Conditions for the use of Procom DZL 363 in hazardous areas (II3G/Zone 2):
1. All national regulations governing installation and operation regulations are to be
observed when mounting this electrical device in an explosion hazardous area
(Cat. II3G/Zone 2).
2. It is to be mounted in an enclosure with a minimum of IP 54 ingress protection
type (according to EN 60529) when used outside, or IP 40 when used in enclosed
rooms.
3. Before switching on the device, ensure that the local power supply complies with
the range stated on the nameplate.
4. In II3G/Zone 2, removal of the instrument out of the enclosure, e.g. for repairs,
is only permitted with the power supply disconnected.
5. For exchanging the DAT memory module, the fuse (the same fuse as the safe
area version is used), or for configuration, use the same procedure as with the
safe area version.
