Description of the CP 1512

Components of the Product
The following components are supplied with the CP 1512:
• Communications processor CP 1512
• Cable adapter for connecting an Ethernet cable with an RJ-45 connector to the
CP 1512
• CD-ROM with drivers for the CP 1512

Please check that the consignment you have received is complete. If it is not,
please contact your supplier or your local Siemens office immediately.
Caution
If the consignment is not complete, do not install or operate the module under any
circumstances.
Hardware Requirements
The SIMATIC NET CP 1512 is an Ethernet adapter complying with the PCMCIA
CardBus standard. To be able to use this device, your PC must be equipped with a
PCMCIA slot type II or type III and must have a CardBus (32-bit) interface.
To install a driver from the supplied CD, you must have a CD ROM drive available.
