11 EPA settings for steering and drive (4 small control dials)
Control dials "EPA-ST (Left)" and "EPA-ST (Right)": These two control dials set the steering end point to the
left and to the right. The adjustment can be made separately for both sides. The reverse switch (3) determines
whether the settings are made for the left or the right. The settings might therefore be inverted.
Setting the steering end point prevents the drive of the steering servo from being overstrained when the steering
mechanism has already reached the end point. A greater angle of the steering servo does not cause additional
movement of the steering mechanism, but it overstrains the servo drive and uses a lot of power.
Control dial "EPA-TH (Backward)" and "EPA-TH (Forward)": These two control dials set maximum forward
and reverse speed. Normally both dials should be turned all the way to the right (clockwise) to "MAX". For beginners,
reducing maximum speed is reasonable.
The reverse switch (4) determines whether the settings are made for forward or reverse movement. The settings
might therefore be inverted.
12 Dual-rate steering control
The dual-rate control limits the possible steering angle of the control wheel (8). This allows more sensitive steering
at high speeds.
Control turned to the right = great steering angle when control wheel (8) is completely turned
Control turned to the left = small steering angle when control wheel (8) is completely turned
13 Throttle for forward/reverse drive
This throttle controls the drive and the brake function of the vehicle. See chapter 9. j) further down in these
operating instructions.
14 Battery compartment
Insert 8 AA batteries or 8 rechargeable batteries. Observe the correct polarity. The polarity is indicated in the
battery compartment.
15 Charging socket
If rechargeable batteries have been inserted in the remote control, you can charge them using a suitable charger
cable and battery charger.
The charging amperage must not exceed 250 mA. Otherwise the strip conductors in the remote control might be
damaged. Therefore, do not connect any quick chargers! Observe the correct polarity (inner wire is positive).
Never charge conventional, non-rechargeable batteries! There is a risk of fire and explosion!
