6. Tips and troubleshooting:

§
The connecting cables (charging cables) to the accumulator should not be
longer than 25 - 30 cm and should have the appropriate cross-section for the
charging current.
Notice:
Accumulator packs consisting of cells with different nominal capacities or of
different types, as well as accumulator packs consisting of cells from different
manufacturers, should never be used together.
§
Accumulator packs consisting of cells with different properties never attain the
same charge status concurrently. Due to the switch-off methods described
(chapter 4, Recognition of fully-charged accumulator), the device will not be
able to detect a fully-charged state with certainty and the charging processor
will discontinue charging prematurely. The ReFLEX 200 multi device then
switches to float charge without having fully charged the accumulator. The
charging LED flashes.
§
Should you try to recharge a accumulator that is already fully charged, the
charging voltage increases quickly. The supplied energy can no longer be
stored. After a short time, the charger switches to float charge to avoid
overcharging. The device even recognises overcharged accumulators that
have been charged a second time by mistake, and the device then switches
to compensation charge after a few minutes.
§
If discharged accumulators are stored unused for a long time, they may reach
a state of increased impedance. In this case, the ReFLEX 200 multi
discontinues the charging process prematurely and switches to error status.
The red error LED lights up.
Tip: If this error occurs, reduce the charging current setting and restart the
process.
§
In the event of a cell short circuit, the accumulator cannot reach its nominal
voltage. This is recognised by the charger and notified as an error. The
accumulator should then be disposed of in the correct manner.
§
Bad accumulator contacts or too thin or too long charging cables can lead to
measurement errors. In this case, the charging process is discontinued
prematurely and an error display notifies the error.
