h) Setting of digital throttle trim ("TRM", CH2)
Just as with the steering servo, the centre position (idle position) can also be electronically adjusted for the
throttle servo. With the throttle trim you can briefly set the idle speed of a cold engine to a somewhat higher
level.
Once the engine has reached its normal operating temperature, you can lower the trim again. Since, how-
ever, the idle motion is dependent on the present outdoor temperature, air humidity, air pressure and of
course the operating temperature of the engine, the throttle trim has to be adjusted more often.
• In order for the engine not to go out when the brakes of
the vehicle are applied, an adjustment screw (1) on the
slide carburettor prevents the complete closing of the
carburettor. The more the setting screw is screwed into
the carburettor, the larger the air gap on the slider and
the higher the idle speed.
The setting screw is already preadjusted by the factory
and can later be readjusted on the engine that is run-in
and at operating state temperature.
• Please note:
If the idle speed is too high, the model will not stop at
idle speed and the centrifugal clutch is overloaded. If the
idle speed is too low, the engine will take no more fuel
and will go out when the brakes are applied.
• Now, set the throttle servo with the help of the trim but-
ton for the drive function (also see illustration 1, pos. 14)
in such a way that the slide on the carburettor is closed
up to the limit stop on the setting screw (2), but the brake
of the vehicle (3) does not yet engage. Doing this, the
operating lever for the drive function (see illustration 1,
pos. 8) has to be in centre position.
• If the linkage has been set correctly, a gap of approx. 1
mm should result at the silicone ring (4). Next to the trim
display "TRM" and channel 2, the letter "F" ("forward")
or "B" ("backward") will appear in the display, depend-
ing on the trim direction, as well as the necessary correc-
tion value.
• If you are also using your remote control for a model with
electric motor and electronic cruise control, you can also
use the digital throttle trim.
This may be necessary when the model rolls slightly for-
ward or backward, although the operating lever for the
drive function is in the centre position (stop position).
When using programmable cruise controls, set the value
for the trim to "F0".
