Exponential control curve (EXP)

The transmitter enables the pilot to select two settings for the exponential servo swinging in
the main flight channels elevator and aileron (and rudder with the helicopter).
The exponential servo swinging is mostly used to design the control feeling near the
central point of the control joystick „softer".
If „exponential" is switched off, the servo always moves compatible to the control joy-
stick, 50% of the joystick swinging result 50% of the servo swinging, 75% of the joystick
swinging result 75% of the servo swinging.
With the exponential setup you do not change the complete servo swinging with a 100%
joystick swinging, but the servo swinging changes with joystick swinging less than
100%. You can for example setup, that the first 25% of the joystick swinging only influ-
ence 10% of the complete servo swinging, which makes the control around the central
point more delicate. Observe the illustrations below.

If you have used the exponential function before, you will surely begin with the lower rate
of the exponential setting (10 to 20%), to notice, whether you are satisfied with this type of
control behaviour. The exponential setting is very helpful, if you desire a strong control
with extreme joystick swinging and a soft control with small joystick swinging, in order to
undertake very precise corrections of the flight position.
The switch position for Exponential #1 and Exponential #2 accord to those Dual-rate
switches of the elevator and aileron.
Exponential #1 is active, when the Dual-Rate-switch show downwards, is therefore
„OFF". If it stands upwards, meaning „ON", Exponential #2 is active. Observe that the
Dual-rate setting for elevators and ailerons - meaning normal - can be left with 100%,
and the switch for dual rate only activates the exponential control „ON".
