Mounting the new planing irons
• Only use planing irons which correspond to the technical specifications for
this plane.
• Irons that do not fit, are incorrectly mounted, blunt, damaged or ream can come
loose or increase risk of kickback dramatically.
• Always change both irons at the same time.
• The steel holders are balanced towards each other and can be interchanged.
• Only planing irons marked as "HSS" or "HS" can be sharpened. When sharpening,
make sure that you sharpen both planing irons equally to avoid imbalance and
damage to the layers.
• The planing irons may only be sharpened down to a minimum width of 14 mm.
• Only use original spare parts.
1. Place the iron holders (12) in the slot in
the cutter.
2. Make sure the springs (13) are in
the right position.
3. Screw the six-sided screws (16)
in so far that the planing iron has
enough space.
4. Place a sharp planing iron (14) in
the centre of the iron holder so
that nothing shoots over the end of
the cutter.
5. Adjust setting on the planing iron with
the guide for setting the height of
the planing iron (15).
6. To fasten the planing irons, tighten
the six-sided screws (16) on the iron
holder. Begin with the external screws
and then the middle ones. Do not
extend the tool shaft when tightening,
and do not switch the tool's shaft on;
only tighten by hand.
7. Mount the hoods and then
the adjustment crank.
8. Lastly, connect the chip/shaving
extractor.
