GENERAL REMARKS

Voltage peaks, which are particularly prone to occur where there are varying
electromagnetic fields, may in some cases lead to malfunctions in the digital
signal processing carried out by your power source.
By becoming conductive as a result of a voltage rise, and short-circuiting any
induced voltages to earth, the by-pass capacitor NMI prevents such voltage
peaks from occurring.
Arresting interference signals in this way, with the by-pass capacitor NMI
installation kit, is a significant contribution towards increasing the already very
high operational reliability and availability of your power source still further.
Warning! This modification may only be performed by suitably
trained and skilled electricians! Prior to opening the unit, set the master
switch to "O" and unplug the mains plug! Observe the safety
regulations in the operating manual of the power source.
HOW TO INSTALL THE BY-PASS CAPACITOR NMI
- Undo the screws on the cover
- Take off the cover
- Undo the screws on the right sidepiece
- Take off the right sidepiece
N.B.! When detaching the module from the power source, do not kink or pinch the
cables or strain them by pulling them.
- Undo the screws on the module
- Carefully detach the module
- Disconnect all cable links between the module and the NMI 4 D board
(Fig. 2); undo the relevant plug-in connections
- Unscrew the six black plastic spacers
N.B.! When dismounting the NMI 4 D board , do not bend the NMI 4 D board
, and do not kink or pinch any cables or strain them by pulling them too hard.
- Carefully detach the NMI 4 D board
(Fig. 3)
- In order to continue removing the NMI 4 D board
spacers , undo the plug-in connections in the top area at the rear of the
NMI 4 D board
(Fig.3)
- Remove the white plastic spacer
do this, squeeze together the retainers on the peg
- Insert the brass spacer
into the backing plate
- Place the tooth-lock washer , the contact plate
lock washer
onto the thread of the brass spacer
- Place the hexagonal nut
onto the thread of the brass spacer
it slightly, holding the brass spacer
- Align the contact plate
as shown in Fig.5
- Tighten the hexagonal nut
that it does not also turn (Fig.5)
- Push the cable lug
of the capacitor
- Unplug the Molex plug
from the NMI 4 D board
- Insert the contact tube
of the capacitor
Pin 6 position (Fig.5)
- Gently pull at the cable to check that the contact tube
N.B.! When mounting the NMI 4 D board , do not bend the NMI 4 D board ,
and do not kink or pinch any cables or strain them by pulling them too hard
- Plug in all plugs at the rear of the NMI 4 D board
