• To be able to find the triggering smoke alarm more easily e.g. in case of
a false alarm, its red control LED will continue to flash after termination of
the alarm for about 10 minutes.
• By pressing the test key for approx. 2 seconds (press key up to pressure
point), the acoustic alarm will be switched off for approx. 10 minutes as long
as there is still smoke in the smoke chamber (LED continues to flash).
• If there is no smoke any more in the smoke chamber, the alarm is completely
terminated by pressing the test key.
In the case of several smoke alarms which are connected by radio,
complete termination of the alarm is only possible when the alarm
is activated by means of the triggering smoke alarm!
b) Periodic monitoring, error display
The function of the smoke alarm is to be checked once a month. For this, press
the test key for approx. 2 seconds (operate key up to pressure point).
• If the acoustic signal sounds once and the LED flashes 10 times, the smoke
alarm is functioning correctly.
• If only the LED starts to flash after pressing the key, the smoke alarm is
defective and has to be replaced.
• If there is no signal at all, the batteries are flat. Replace the old batteries
with a complete set of new batteries.
Pay attention to the correct polarity. You will find the corresponding
information in the battery compartment (see also figure 7 on page
41).
If the batteries are in order, the smoke alarm itself is possibly defective
and has to be replaced. Check, if necessary, correct mounting of the module
in the smoke alarm, the setting of the jumpers J5/J6 and the jumpers for
the house code, J1/J2/J3/J4.
