• Insert the smoke alarm by turning it in the clockwise direction into the
mounted lower bulb. For correct positioning, the red triangles fastened in
the lower bulb and in the smoke alarm will help.
Please note:
Without inserted batteries, the two parts of the housing
(lower bulb/smoke alarm) cannot be locked for safety reasons!

7. Function control and operation

a) Control elements and function test

After mounting the smoke alarm, a function test should be carried out.
The optical signal transmitter (emergency lighting)
lights up together at the same time as the acoustic
signal sounding.
• Blow tobacco smoke, for example, on to the smoke alarm. After the smoke
has penetrated into the smoke chamber inside the smoke alarm, the alarm
is triggered as long as smoke is located in the smoke chamber of the smoke
alarm.
