9. Getting started with the transmitter

In practice, it has proven useful to turn the transmitter on first and then charge the receiver battery using the transmit-
ter. The model can then be completed during the charging process.
The numbers used in these instructions refer to the illustration alongside the text or the illustrations within
the respective section. Cross references to other figures are indicated with the corresponding number.

a) Selecting remote control mode

The remote control can be operated in mode 1 or mode 2 (see also figure 1, no. 3) using the mode switch. If the switch
is slid to the left position, mode 1 is activated. If the switch is slid the right position, mode 2 is activated.
The two modes only differ in the assignment of the control functions of the two joysticks.
Mode 1:
• Right joystick forward/backward: No function
• Right joystick right/left: Rudder function
• Left joystick forward/backward: Elevator function
• Left joystick right/left: No function
Mode 2:
• Right joystick forward/backward: Elevator function
• Right joystick right/left: Rudder function
• Left joystick forward/backward: No function
• Left joystick right/left: No function

Attention important!
The joystick for the rudder and elevator func-
tion is normally held in the centre position by
spring tension. In contrast, the right joystick (in
mode 1) or the left joystick (in mode 2) always
remains in the last set position when it is moved
forwards and backwards. If used with a motor
model, this joystick function could be used to
control the speed of the motor.
So that there are no mechanical problems when
switching mode, the joystick that is not held in
the centre position by spring tension must be
manually moved to the centre position. Only
then can the mode switch be operated.
