Attaching the bandsaw to the stand
Notice
The bandsaw is heavy. It requires two people to lift it.
The bandsaw must not be carried by any part of the machine itself such as the motor,
cutting table or adjusting handles.
1. Lift the bandsaw by the baseplate and align the three mounting holes in the baseplate with
the corresponding holes in the stand.
2. Secure the saw to the stand using the screws (HP1), lock washers (HP7), flat washers (HP6)
and nuts (HP8). Tighten the nuts using a 6 mm hex key and 13 mm spanner (sold separately).
Adjusting the centring and tension
of the blade
Note: Ensure that the plug is disconnected from the wall socket
before fitting or adjusting anything on the bandsaw.
1. Screw the quick-tensioning handle securely (Q) onto
the bandsaw and ensure that the handle is turned anticlock-
wise in order to keep the blade tight.
2. Check that the blade is not in contact with any of the blade
guides (W) (see section Adjusting the blade guides).
3. Open the door to the upper and lower blade pulley wheels.
Centring the blade
1. Turn the upper blade pulley wheel clockwise by hand and
check that the blade is centred on the linings of the wheels.
2. Adjust the tracking as necessary using the adjustment knob
(U). Unlock the knob using the wing nut (T) and retighten
after adjustment. Adjustment can be made easier by looking
through the window (S).
Saw blade tension
1. Adjust the blade tension using the knob (P). Increase
the blade tension by turning it clockwise and reduce by
turning it anticlockwise. The tension of the saw blade
depends on the width of the blade and the material to be
cut.
2. Check the tension by pressing the blade against the frame
of the bandsaw as shown in the figure. It should be possible
to press the blade fully against the frame (approx. 8 mm)
using moderate pressure. Do not tighten more than is
required to hold the blade on the pulley wheels.
Note: Too little or too much tension on the saw blade can
damage the blade.
