Insert the cable conduit with the aid of a wire
pull and connect to the socket.
With the versions with control unit, the special
cable (art. no. 28530) or the hose for pneumatic
level measurement (art. no. 25830) must also
be pulled through the cable conduit. Fill the
tank with water and check the function of the
floating switch and the probes and submersible
pipe. Set slotted cover or cover plate in place.
3.3 Servicing
Caution
Always REMOVE THE MAINS PLUG before
carrying out any work on the pump!
To do this, unscrew the suction strainer after
removing the pump, take the suction cover off
and clean the impeller space. Check the floa-
ting switch and level probes or submersible
pipe and alarm probe regularly for soiling and
clean if necessary.
Never open the pump yourself (always have an
expert do it) since improper handling could da-
mage the pump seal and allow oil to enter the
wastewater.
3. Cleaning and servicing
3.4 Servicing the integrated backwater
valves
Remove the pump. After removal of the pump
attachment (loosen the two cross-slot screws,
see Fig. 12), the backwater valve can be remo-
ved and cleaned.
This allows unhindered access for cleaning the
pressure pipe.
Caution
During installation, make sure that the valve is
mounted with the arrow pointing downwards.
3.5 Use of the KTP 500 as submersible
pump
Motor-driven submersible pumps contain oil
for lubrication and cooling; this oil can escape
and soil the pumping medium if the pump is
damaged.
Before you put your KESSEL Aqualift S sub-
mersible pump into operation, have an expert
check whether the following electrical protec-
tive measures are available: grounding, neu-
tral, isolation transformer or residual current-
operated protective circuit; these must comply
with the requirements of local electricity sup-
31
pliers and be in perfect working condition.
(EVU = Energie-Versorgungsunternehmen =
electricity suppliers)
Caution
The electrical plug and socket de-
vice must be kept dry! If there is a danger of floo-
ding, install the plug and socket device in the
floodproof range.
Pumps may only be used in swimming pools
and garden ponds and their protected area if
they have been set up according to VDE 0100
§ 49d. Please ask your qualified electrician.
