i) Starting the quadrocopter

There are two ways to start the quadrocopter:
Manual method:
Switch the remote control transmitter and the quadrocopter on as described above. The LEDs on the quadrocopter
must remain lit.
Move the left joystick (13) to the lower left corner and the
right joystick (3) in the lower right corner (see light arrows
in Figure 15) and hold the two levers in this position until
the propellers start up and rotate at low speed.
If the propellers are running, move the two joysticks back
to the centre position.
Important note:
To stop the propellers again after they have
been started up, the left joystick must be moved
to the lower right corner and the right joystick
moved to the lower left corner (see dark arrows
in Figure 15).
If you now carefully move the left joystick forward with the
propellers running, the quadrocopter will significantly in-
crease the propeller speed and take off.
With the right joystick, you can easily correct any drift forwards or backwards or to the side.
Once the desired altitude is reached, move the left joystick back to the centre position. The quadrocopter can now
hover at a steady altitude thanks to its barometric sensor.
The altitude can be controlled separately with the left joystick.
Automatic method:
Switch the remote control transmitter and the quadrocopter on as described above.
Quickly press the push button for automatic start (see Figure 15, no. 6).
The propellers will start to rotate and the quadrocopter will take off. It rises to an altitude of approx. 1.8 m and automati-
cally switches to hover flight.
You can easily correct any lateral drift during the ascent using the right joystick.
The quadrocopter can now hover at a steady altitude thanks to its barometric sensor.
The altitude can be controlled separately with the left joystick.
