Quick Start Guide
Quadrocopter „Shadow" RTF
Item No. 1318310
Preparing the Quadrocopter
Mounting the propeller
Enclosed with the Quadrocopter are 2 pairs of anti-
clockwise rotating propellers (1) and 2 pairs of clock-
wise rotating propellers (2), whereby 1 pair serves as a
replacement propeller.
Important!
When mounting pay attention to the propellers'
direction of rotation. The propellers front left
and rear right rotate clockwise when viewed
from above, and the propellers front right and
rear left rotate counter clockwise.
The arrow in the upper half of the image shows the di-
rection of flight of the model forwards.
Important!
The propeller mounting bolts on the front left and rear right (see figure 1, pos. 3) have a left-hand
thread and must be disconnected and reconnected contrary to the usual direction of rotation.
Stabilized camera mount (2 D Gimbal)
In order to mount a GoPro camera type or other identical
cameras (1) the mounting bracket (2) must be removed
and re-secured with the two M2 x 5 screws after the
camera is mounted.
Attention important!
Never use the camera mount without built-in
camera.
The mounting is not balanced due to the
missing weight of the camera; as a result the
electronic controls are overloaded and can be
damaged.
Charging the flight battery
The 3 cell flight battery is charged using the AC adapter
(1) supplied and the balancer charger (2).
First connect the low voltage plug of the AC adapter (3)
on the left side of the balancer charger.
After connecting the power adapter to a mains socket,
the red operating voltage indicator on the balancer char-
ger (4) lights up and shows the correct power supply.
There are two battery charger sockets on the right side
of the balancer charger.
The reverse polarity protected connector (5) of the 4 pin battery cable (balancer connection cable) is con-
nected to the lower charging socket (6). As soon as the battery is connected charging begins and the green
charging light (7) flashes. When charging is complete, the green charging light glows continuously.

Operating the transmitter

Inserting the batteries
The battery compartment cover (1) is located on the
back of the transmitter. Press the grooved surface (2)
and slide the cover downwards.

Please note the correct polarity of the cells when in-
serting the 4 batteries. An appropriate note (3) is at the

bottom of the battery compartment.

Operating the Quadrocopter

Inserting the flight battery into the battery box
Figure 1
The Quadrocopter has a battery box that houses the flight battery. It is inserted into the Quadrocopter from
the rear side. To unlock the battery box, press the grooved surface above the display (see arrow in figure 6)
and pull the box out in a rearward direction.
Insert the flight battery (1) into the battery box. The bat-
tery is fixed in its position with the help of Velcro (2).
Then connect the four pin balancer connector of the bat-
tery (3) to the connecting cable of the power indicator
(4) of the battery box.
The power indicator gives with a built-in sounder three
notes in rapid succession and then displays the number
of cells detected and the total voltage.
Store the balancer cable in accordance with the lower
image in figure 7.
The Quadrocopter should be landed with a battery vol-

tage of 10.8 V. If the voltage drops further, the voltage
display in the Quadrocopter and the remote control
transmitter sound alarm signals. The Quadrocopter has
to land and the flight battery recharged.
Immediately after landing, the two-poled XT-60
plug (see picture 8, pos. 1) and the four-poled
balancer rechargeable battery (3) must be un-
plugged to prevent a deep discharge.
Installing the flight battery in the Quadrocopter
First switch on the remote control transmitter.
Before you install the flight battery in the Quadrocopter, connect the power indicator of the battery box to the
flight battery. The voltage value at fully charged battery should be 12.6 V.
Then connect the polarity protected XT60 connectors of the flight battery (see figure 8, pos. 1) to the connec-

tor of the Quadrocopter (see figure 8, Pos. 2).
Slide the battery box with the connection cable forward into the Quadrocopter and ensure that the cable is
not pinched.
