ATTENTION
– Always pull the pull starter out straight.
– Hold the handle of the pull starter firmly when the
pull starter winds back in.
– Do not let the pull starter whip back in. This can re-
sult in damage.
– Do not pull the pull starter all the way out. This pre-
vents the starter cable breaking.
– In case of cool weather, it may be necessary to re-
peat the starting process numerous times.
Notes:
• Set the product down on a solid surface before start-
ing the engine.
• Only use the fuel pump "primer" when the engine is
cold!
• If the engine is being started for the first time, several
tries are required to start until the fuel has been deliv-
ered from the tank to the engine.
10.1.1
Starting the engine when cold
Note:
With high outside temperatures, it may be necessary to
start the engine without the choke even when the engine
is cold!
1. Set the choke lever (4) to the " " position by pulling it
out.
2. Set the on/off switch (1a) to "I".
3. Press the primer (4a) 6 times.
4. Pull the pull starter (5) 3 to 5 times to start the engine.
5. Once the engine is running, wait a short time and then
set the choke lever (6) to the " " position by pressing
it in.
6. Use the throttle (1b) to control the speed of the engine
and thus the air flow.
10.1.2
Starting the engine when warm
(The product stood still for less than 15-20 minutes.)
1. Set the choke lever (4) to the " " position by pressing
it in.
2. Press the on/off switch (1a) to "I".
3. Pull the pull starter (5) to start the engine.
4. Use the throttle (1b) to control the speed of the engine
and thus the air flow.
Note:
• If the engine does not start even after several at-
tempts, read the 16 chapter.
10.1.3
Continuous operation
1. Start the motor as described in 10.1.
2. Press the throttle lever (1b) to the desired position.
3. Lock the throttle lever (1b) in the desired position by
flipping the locking lever (1c).
4. The throttle (1b) can now be released.
5. Separately, release the locking lever (1c) to stop con-
tinuous operation.

10.1.4
Tool required:
• Slotted screwdriver (15)
Idling speed adjustment is necessary when the engine
tends to die off or when no significant speed differences
are detected when using the choke lever (4). The adjust-
ment is made after starting the engine at the adjusting
screw (5a).
Let the engine idle for a few minutes before making the
adjustment.
1. Turn the adjusting screw (5a) clockwise to increase
the idle speed. Use the slotted screwdriver (15).
2. Turn the adjusting screw (5a) anticlockwise to reduce
the idle speed. Use the slotted screwdriver (15).
Adjust the idle speed so that the engine runs smoothly
and without interruption when idling.
10.2
Switch off the engine (Fig. 7, 8)
1. Release the parking lever (1c) and let go of the throt-
tle lever (1b) so that the engine runs at idle speed.
2. Set the on/off switch (1a) to "0".
10.2.1
1. If it is necessary to stop the product immediately, set
the on/off switch (1a) to "0".
10.2.2
• Always switch the product off before placing it
down and wait until the product has come to a
standstill.
• Allow the product to cool.
• Remove the spark plug connector from the spark plug.
11 Working instructions
Notes:
• Some noise pollution from this product is unavoidable.
Postpone noisy work to approved and designated
times. If necessary, adhere to rest periods and limit
the duration of work to the bare minimum.
• For your personal protection and the protection of
nearby persons, wear suitable hearing protection.
The product may only be used for the following purposes:
• As a blower for piling up dry foliage or blowing it away
from hard-to-reach places.
Any other use may result in damage to the product and
pose a danger to the user.
• Before switching on the product, make sure that it is
not directed towards people or animals.
• Lightly dampen surfaces in dusty conditions.
• Point the air jet forward and move slowly to blow
leaves or garden waste together or remove them from
hard-to-reach places.
• Use rakes and brooms to loosen up waste before
blowing.
• Start work with the highest blowing power to quickly
collect the leaves lying around.
Select a lower blowing power to compact the previ-
ously collected pile of leaves.
