TIP:
Your Design Juicer Professional makes invigorating, frothy orange juice. Simply
peel the oranges before juicing. It is best to refrigerate oranges first.
• All fruits with pits, hard seeds or stones such as nectarine, peaches, mangoes,
apricots, plums and cherries must be pitted before juicing. When processing app-
les and pears, it is good advice to remove the core first.
• A small amount of lemon juice can be added to apple juice to prohibit browning.

The right technique

• If juicing herbs or leafy green vegetables on their own, the juice yield will be low
due to the nature of centrifugal juicing, it is advised to juice them as with a com-
bination of other fruit and vegetables.
• When juicing a variety of ingredients with varying textures start with the softer tex-
tured ingredients then change to for harder texture ingredients. Choose the correct
speed according to the speed selection table below (see: 'Selecting the Speed').
• When processing hard and fibrous food and/or pushing too fast, and applying
too much pressure onto the pusher, the pulp will be very wet and may stick to the
juicer cover and clog the filter basket. In this case, clean the micro-mesh of the
filter basket (see: 'Remove Blockage').
• If you are juicing herbs, sprouts or leafy green vegetables either wrap then toge-
ther to form a bundle or juice them in the middle of a combination of ingredients
to obtain the best extraction.
• All fruit and vegetables produce different amounts of liquids. This varies within
the same group i.e. one batch of tomatoes can produce more juice than another
batch.
• Since juice recipes are not exact, the precise quantities of any juice are not crucial
to the success of a particular mixture.
• When preparing carrot juice, put the carrots with the small tip facing upwards
into the feed chute.
Note:
To extract the maximum amount of juice always push the pusher down slowly.
To avoid blockage of the filter basket
• Use a high speed selection when juicing hard, fibrous food.
• Remove very hard and fibrous parts such as stalks and stems.
