Functional description
With 4-step welding, the button does not need to be held down constantly, so the
operator is able to work for a longer period of time without getting tired.
How the 4-step function works:
Place the electrode onto the work piece. The contact is without current, since
there is no output voltage yet. This is in favour of the electrode and the work
piece.
1st Step: Press the torch button.
The solenoid valve for shielding gas is opened.
The arc will ignite after the gas pre-flow time (0.1 second).
The welding current has the value preselected for the starting current (starting
current = 50% of preselected welding current).
2nd Step: Release torch button.
The welding current adjusts automatically to the preselected value.
3rd Step: Press the torch button
The current drops to the end crater current value (end crater current = 20% of
the adjusted welding current).
The welding current flows with the value selected for the end crater current.
4th Step: Release torch button.
The arc ceases.
The shielding gas flows for another 8 seconds according to the fixed gas post-
purge time.

Control LEDs

REMOTE CONTROL ACTIVATED control lamp [8]
When a remote control element is connected and active, the
LED lights.
OPERATION control lamp [9]
Idle current is available at the torch or electrode holder.
TEMPERATURE control lamp [10]
The LED (yellow) lights when the temperature limit value is
reached. As long as this LED is lit up, the power supply is
switched off and there is no output voltage available. With
WIG welding, the preset gas post-flow time starts when the
power supply is switched off. After the unit has cooled down,
the LED goes out and you can automatically resume welding
again.
