STARTING AND STOPPING THE ENGINE
STARTING THE ENGINE WITH THE ELECTRIC STARTER
1.
Check the engine oil level. See the "Checking the Oil Level" section.
2.
Engage the grass bag.
3.
Fully depress the brake clutch pedal and engage the parking brake.
4.
The blade must be off.
5.
Set the desired cutting height.
6.
Place the shift lever in neutral "N".
7.
Turn the ignition key to "start" until the engine starts, then leave it in the "on" position.
8.
The throttle grip controls engine speed.
START THE ENGINE WITH THE STARTER GRIP.
1.
Check the engine oil level. See the "Checking the Oil Level" section.
2.
Engage the grass catcher.
3.
Fully depress the brake pedal and engage the parking brake.
4.
The blade must be off.
5.
Set the desired cutting height.
6.
Place the shift lever in neutral "N".
7.
Turn the ignition key to "ON."
8.
Fold the seat up and pull the starter cord.
9.
Caution: In cold weather, it may be necessary to repeat the starting process several times.
10.
Do not allow the starter cord to snap back into place.
11.
Close the seat.
DRIVING WITHOUT MOWING THE LAWN
1.
At "SLOW" speed, fully depress the brake pedal and the parking brake will automatically release.
2.
Engage the desired gear.
3.
Release the brake pedal slowly to move the mower slowly.
4.
Move the throttle lever in the "FAST" direction to increase acceleration.
CAUTION! Only shift gears when stopped. (The engine cannot be turned off.)
DRIVING WITH THE MOWER FUNCTION.
1.
At "SLOW" speed, fully depress the brake pedal and the parking brake will automatically release.
2.
Slowly move the mower switch lever (8) forward and, when the mower is engaged, move it to the left
until it engages.
3.
Engage the desired gear.
4.
Slowly release the brake pedal to move the mower slowly.
5.
Move the throttle lever in the "FAST" direction to increase acceleration.
CAUTION! Only shift gears when stopped. (The engine cannot be turned off.)
