In service mode, the charger provides a constant voltage and supplies the on-board
network when:
a) an inspection/repair/customer service/servicing must be carried out on the
vehicle.
In this position, the charger balances the vehicle's power consumption until it
reaches its maximum rated power (buffer mode).
b) the battery is disconnected. This prevents data loss in the vehicle's on-board
computer (backup mode).
The on-board power supply is guaranteed in all operating situations, i.e. also during
connection and disconnection to the battery.
After connecting the battery, the service mode starts.
and the right part of the display shows the nominal battery voltage and the current
service charge current.
The service mode can be interrupted at any time by pressing the "STOP" button, the
display jumps back to the basic menu. The charger is switched off by pulling the
mains plug out of the socket.
Caution: This function may only be used with 12V lead-acid batteries
disconnected from the vehicle, as the high charging voltage of 15.6 V poses a
danger to the 12V on-board electronics in vehicle systems, can damage car
paintwork due to battery gassing and reduces the service life of light bulbs.
After selecting reactivation, the display shows the warning message
SERVICE
After starting the SERVICE mode, the
current charging current and the charging
voltage are displayed. If the current
exceeds 55A, the unit has reached its
capacity. If a higher current requirement is
to be expected, the unit must be replaced
with a more powerful unit.
The service charging current curve can be
read from the diagram
