Measures against dust, falling water and water ingress
- Do not expose the charger to rain or snow.
- If battery acid gets on skin or clothing, wash immediately with soap and water. If
acid gets in the eyes, immediately flush the eye with cold running water for at least
10 minutes and get a medical examination immediately.
Measures against flammable substances
- NEVER smoke or allow open flames or sparks near the battery or engine.
- When charging, the battery can develop oxyhydrogen gases. It is therefore
essential to ensure that no sparks can form in the immediate vicinity.
- When connecting or disconnecting the battery cables, wear protective goggles and
keep your face away from the contact points!
- Take care when handling metal tools near the battery. There is a high risk of
sparking or explosion by short-circuiting the contacts.
- Use of accessories not recommended or sold by the charger manufacturer may
result in a risk of fire, electric shock or personal injury.
- Make sure that the area around the battery is well ventilated while the battery is
being charged.
- Never place the charger directly over the battery to be charged; gases from the
battery would eat away at the charger and damage it. Also, never place the battery
on top of the charger.
Measures to prevent the appliance from heating up
- Heating of the unit up to 50°C during operation is normal and no cause for
concern.
Attention hot surface: Do not touch during and after operation (risk of burns).
- Do not cover the charger. Ensure good ventilation when charging. Overheating
caused by covering leads to automatic reduction of the charging current or even to
switching off.
