Function and operation
Operating principle
When the door is closed, the bolt engages in the lock counterpart.
As long as a current is flowing, the bolt is secured and the door is locked
(fail-unlocked principle).
Monitoring contacts
The electric strike for double acting swing doors 351U80 has door recognition.
A potential-free contact signals the door status (door closed or open).
The integrated potential-free armature contact can be used to electronically
monitor the locking status.
Monitoring contacts can be used to monitor the door's locking status so that an
electric door drive can be used (opens) precisely when the door is unlocked, for
example. The locked signal can be used for central building surveillance, for example.
