Scanner/Scale Wake-Up — Pressing and releasing
the Zero switch when the scanner/scale is in
Sleep Mode wakes the unit up and returns it to
normal operation. (You can also wake up the
scanner/scale by touching the weighing platform
or passing an object in front of the vertical
window).
Scale Re-zero — Under normal operating condi-
tions, the Scale Status LED should be lit when
there is no weight on the scale, indicating that the
scale is at zero. If the LED is not lit at that time,
pressing and releasing the Zero switch should
return the scale to zero and cause the LED to
light. If the scale re-zero fails, it could be because
an accumulation of debris in and around the
Magellan SL is preventing free movement of
the L-Platter. Clean the debris chutes,
following the procedure titled: Cleaning the
Debris Chutes. If, after cleaning the debris
chutes, the scale will still not re-zero, call
your technical support personnel and report
the problem.

NDICATOR
The operator's control panel contains two status
indicators – a Scanner Status LED (green) and a
Scale Status LED (yellow).
S
CANNER
The green Scanner Status indicator LED has four
active states:
On steady & dim — indicates that the scanner is active
and ready for operation. Scanning is immediately
available.
Flashes brightly — and is accompanied by a 'good read'
tone. This combination acknowledges that the
scanner has correctly read the label and sent the data
to the host.

NDICATORS
Flashes slowly — to indicate that the scanner motor
and/or laser have automatically switched off and
unit has entered Sleep Mode due to an extended
period of inactivity. Passing your hand or a product
in front of the vertical window is one way to wake up
the scanner and quickly return it to operating mode
(indicated by the green lamp on dim as described
above).
Flashes a repeated sequence — a helpful diagnostic
tool indicating that a problem has been detected.
The scanner uses the indicator lamp(s) and speaker
to repeat a coded sequence to identify a problem. If
your scanner exhibits this behavior, record the num-
ber of flashes and/or tones and call your system
support personnel.
The scanner/scale has a yellow Scale Status LED
whose main function is to indicate when the
scale is at zero and ready for weighing (see the
topic on this page titled: Scale Re-zero).
tionally, the Scale Status LED can flash a coded
sequence to indicate specific scale errors (to
assist system support personnel in making a
problem diagnosis).
If your scanner model does not include a scale,
this LED is on during power-up selftest, but it
goes out when selftest is completed and the
scanner is ready for operation.
