Function description
Differentiation of sealing materials
At Ecolab, the sealing materials FKM (Viton) and EPDM are usually distinguished by
different markings on the O-rings:
FKM (Viton) - black with red dot
EPDM - black
Information as to which materials are used in the respective pump can be found in the
pump legend on the pump typeplate. The typeplate is located on the right-hand side of

the pump head. You can find an explanation of the pump code in the section
data .
Some pump models also have coloured rings fitted to the suction and delivery valves to
identify the O-ring material, see Fig. 2 .
