Modbus connection
The Elexant 650c-Modbus can be connected to a Building Management
EN
EN
System (BMS) by using MONI-RS485-WIRE (PCN 549097-000) shielded,
twisted 2-core cable (max. 1000 m) for the connection master/slave and
DE
BMS.
FR
Optional module
SM-TF130-DI is an external module for the ice rain feature in combination
NL
with GM-TA-AS or NTC-SENSOR-10M and for the panel alarm digital
DA
input.
FI
3. OPERATION
NO
If Elexant 650c-Modbus is not programmed, the unit will start the intuitive
SV
quickstart menu after powering up. Modbus register map for Elexant
650c-Modbus can be downloaded from www.nVent.com/RAYCHEM.
CZ
An ice rain function is available when using the SM-TF130-DI. The ice
rain function only applies to ramp heating. It does not apply to the roof
LT
heating.
PL
Pre-heating of the ramp can be done to minimize the risks of ice rain if:
1. the 18h ground temperature measured by the ground sensor falls
RU
below the 18h ground temperature setting and remains at this level for
18 hours. If two ground sensors are assigned to one heating circuit, the
IT
ice rain function compares the lower temperature with the 18h ground
temperature setpoint,
ZH
And,
2. the ambient temperature rises faster than the set gradient setpoint
in K/h (default 2 K/h, range 0.5 K/h to 4 K/h). If two heating circuits are
configured for ramp heating, both heating circuits are independent with
regard to the ice rain function. It may work on heating circuit 1 and not
work on heating circuit 2.
The SM-TF130-DI external module is required to activate the backup
sensor mode and to set the backup sensor mode setpoint. The sensor
from the SM-TF130-DI external module will be used as a backup sensor
if the ground/roof sensor is faulty, but the ground/roof sensor error
message will still be displayed. Backup sensor mode: the output will
be energised if the ambient temperature is equal to or lower than the
backup sensor setpoint.
When setting the setpoint, check the dry value, which is illustrated on the
sticker on the sensor cable. Suggested by nVent, the setpoint set should
be +3 to +4 higher than the one pictured on the sensor, e.g. if there is a
value of 4 on the sensor, then the entered setpoint should be 7-8.
Note: The pre-programming of the controller can be done with an external
power-bank e.g. RAYCHEM-PB-POWERBANK (PCN 1244-020365) in case
there is no power supply on site during controller / panel installation.
