Installation Conditions
In order to guarantee fault-free, safe operation of the Bewades unit,
technical consultation is required before installation. During the consul-
tation, the rated transmission of the water to be treated is determined
and the operating parameters required are set.
In certain circumstances, the water must be pre-treated.
The data determined during the consultation must be entered into
operating data sheet.
Observe all applicable local installation regulations, general guidelines
and technical specifications.
The minimum flow must be ensured when the unit is operating.
The hydraulic conditions must be such that a vacuum can never form
in the UV unit.
The length of the connection cables between the ignition units (5) and
the irradiation chamber (6) should not exceed 4 m.
The connection piping system has to be made of UV-resistant material,
because UVC light shines into the piping system out of the Bewades
MQ unit.
In case of reduction of the connection width of the piping, the dimensi-
oning has to be aligned with the dimension of the Bewades MQ flanges
(e.g. slow down distance). This garantees a constant flow through the
irradiation chamber and an optimal degradation performance.
Fit the unit with a bypass with stop valves for use during maintenance.
Ambient conditions
The installation site must fulfil the following requirements:
Ambient temperature, min. - max.
Rel. humidity, max.
Max. humidity,
Dust concentration in air, max.
The concentrations of aggressive gases in the ambient air must not
exceed the listed thresholds:
Carbon dioxide CO2
Hydrogen sulphide H2S
Hydrochloric acid HCl
Chlorine Cl2
Bromine Br2

Electrical supply
The electrical installation in the room where the unit is installed must
comply with DIN EN 61000-6-2 and DIN EN 61000-6-4.
Treatment of swimming pool water
The flow values listed in the technical data refer to typical swimming
pool water. Approx. one month after installation and start-up, the ratio of
free to bound chlorine reaches a value greater than 4:1. If the UV unit
is operated correctly, the values required for bound chlorine (depending
on the country, max.: 0.2 to 0.5 mg/l) are reached.
Swimming pool water must be treated properly in accordance with the
current state-of-the-art (e.g. according to DIN 19643).. The pool hyd-
raulics must be suitable.
