Introduction

Congratulations on your purchase of the Goldanalytix GoldScreenPen. The Goldanalytix
GoldScreenPen is a handheld tester which determines the electrical conductivity of precious
metal objects, especially coins and small ingots, without destroying them. This device was
primarily developed for the authenticity testing of smaller precious metal coins and bars.
However, the GoldScreenPen is also suitable for the determination of base metals (e.g. in the
recycling sector for the identification of high-value tinware or silver cutlery).
Goldanalytix, established in 2012, is the leading provider of precious metal testing methods in
Germany. With the GoldScreenPen, we offer a testing device for measuring the electrical
conductivity through inductive eddy current measurement. This measurement method allows
for testing up to a depth of approx. 500 µm (depending on the alloy) and is thus suitable as the
sole method for objects up to 1 ounce. The probe tip is equipped with one of the smallest sensor
coils worldwide, which makes it possible to determine the conductivity even at tiny contact
areas.
