Special conditions
1. The power supply board is to be installed outside the hazardous area (II2G/Ex
Zone 1). Potential equalization must be in place along the current loop, both
inside and outside the hazardous area.
2. The power supply board is to be mounted in an enclosure which has a minimum
Ingress Protection of IP 20.
3. Ancillary components for the external intrinsically safe circuits must be separated
according to Section 6.3.1 of EN 50020. The internal wiring must be according to
Section 6.4.11 of EN 50020.
4. The power supply may only be connected to devices in which no voltage higher
than 260 V AC (50 Hz) can occur.
5. The permitted ambient temperature range for the power supply board is
-20 °C to +60 °C.

3. The required temperature class, based on the ambient temperature and the fluid
temperature, must correspond to the tables on page 4.
4. For connecting the electronics enclosure via conduit entries the associated
sealing device shall be mounted direct to the enclosure.
General warnings
• Mounting, electrical installation, commissioning and maintenance are to be carried
out by qualified personnel only who are also trained in explosion protection.
• All national regulations concerning the installation of instruments in explosion
hazardous areas must be observed.
• It is only permitted to open the instrument when no explosive atmosphere is
present, or after observing a cooling time of ten minutes after power has been
removed.
• In the Ex version the electronics housing can also be rotated in 90° steps. Instead
of a bayonet catch like in the standard version, it turns over a thread. The pits to
center the safety Allen head screw are arranged in 90° steps to prevent any
unwanted turning of the electronics housing. During operation, the electronics
housing may be turned by max. 180° (in either direction) without infringing upon
the Ex regulations.
• Note that the Rackbus meets the applicable hazardous area regulations.
Other instruments connected to the bus can limit the maximum number of
connected instruments. Consult the special Rackbus Ex documentation.
