Connecting individual QuantumX modules

6.1

Connecting the supply voltage

Connect the module to a DC voltage of 10 to 30 V (e.g. 24 V). If a supply

voltage of > 30 V is used, defects in the module cannot be ruled out. If the

supply voltage falls below 10 V, the module switches itself off. Reverse polarity

protection is guaranteed.

For battery operation in a vehicle, we recommend installing an uninterruptible

power supply (such as the HBM 1-UPX001-2) between the battery and the

module, to compensate for voltage dips during startup. For continuous

operation without wearing out the installed battery, we recommend a backup

battery that can be used when required.

6.2

Connection to a PC

To connect a module to a PC, use a standard Ethernet cable (e.g. HBM

1-KAB239-2) and connect it to the module and your PC's Ethernet port as

illustrated below.

The CX27C, MX471C and MXFS modules can also be connected to the PC or

fieldbus via the RJ45 ports on the front and the gateway function.
