5 START-UP
The start-up phase is very important to ensure maximum safety of the system and compliance with the standards and regulations,
especially all the requirements of EN12445, which establishes the test methods for verifying gate operators.
DEA System reminds that any installation, cleaning or repair of the entire system must be carried out only by qualifi ed personnel who must
take charge of all the required tests depending on the risk present;
5.1 Installation test
Testing is an essential operation in order to verify the correct installation of the system. DEA System wants to summarize the proper
testing of all automation in 4 simple steps:
• Verify that the provisions of paragraph "SUMMARY OF WARNINGS" are strictly observed;
• Carry out tests on the opening and closing of the operator by verifying that the movement of the boom corresponds to what is
expected. In this regard, it is recommended that several tests be carried out in order to assess the smoothness of the movement and
any defects in assembly or adjustment;
• Check that all safety devices connected to the system are working properly;
• Measure the impact force according to the provisions of the EN12445 standard until you fi nd the setting that ensures compliance
with the limits set by the EN12453 standard.
WARNING The use of spare parts not specifi ed by DEA System and/or improper reassembly may lead to dangerous situations for
people, animals and property; they may also cause product malfunction; always use parts specifi ed by DEA System and strictly follow
assembly instructions.
5.2 Emergency and manual maneuvering
In case of emergency or if anomalies are detected in the system, disconnect the power and manually operate the boom (Fig. 6).
Knowing how manual maneuvering works is very important because, in emergency situations, failure to act in a timely manner can
lead to potentially dangerous situations.
WARNING The effectiveness and safety of manual operation of the automatism is guaranteed by DEA System only if the system has
been assembled correctly and with original accessories.
WARNING Avoid any intervention in the presence of voltage in the system. When opening the caisson door there is a risk of shearing
your hands, keep the boom still to prevent dangerous movements of the internal mechanisms.
6 MAINTENANCE
Good preventive maintenance

In the event of a fault, refer to the
"TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE" table. If the
advice given does not lead to a solution,
contact DEA System.
Description
By activating the opening command, the barrier does not
move and the electric motor of the automation does not
start.
By activating the opening command, the motor starts but
the boom does not move.
The barrier is noisy or struggling to start.
The barrier does not stop perfectly in the vertical /
horizontal position or force on the supports.

Check the correct adjustment of the limit switches

Check that the control board and safety devices are working properly

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
Operator is not properly powered; check connections, fuses and condition of power cord and
replace/repair if necessary.
Check the electronic force adjustment equipment.
Check the correct balance of the boom.
Check that the limit switches are adjusted correctly.
