* Chain tension adjustment
Before adjusting the chain
tension, always make sure that
the engine is switched off!
Wear gloves when carrying out
any work on the machine!
Make sure the chain is inside the bar groove.
While holding the bar by the end, adjust the tension
of the chain with the tension adjustment screw until
the teeth of the chain touch the bottom of the bar.

Turn the chain tension adjustment screw
clockwise until the chain is properly tensioned.
During this adjustment, the guide may rise
slightly. Check the chain tension again. Do not
overtighten the chain. A space of
approximately 2mm measured at the center of
the bar must be kept between the chain and
the bar. Make sure the chain cover is tightened
properly. During intensive use, and following
overheating, the chain may loosen and come
out of the guide.
Check whether it is then necessary to re-
tension the chain. If the chain is re-tensioned
while hot, it must be loosened at the end of the
work to regain its initial tension (2mm) and
avoid excessive tension.
A new chain needs a break-in period of
approximately 5 minutes. At this stage, chain
lubrication is very important. After running the
machine empty for 5 minutes with the new
chain, check the tension and re-tension the
chain if necessary.
• Automatic chain lubrication
The pole pruner is equipped with an automatic
chain lubrication system. It automatically
supplies the bar rail and chain with the correct
amount of oil. As soon as the engine
accelerates, the oil also flows faster to the
guide bar.
Fill the oil tank each time you fill the fuel tank.
To prevent premature wear, the chain and bar
should be lubricated while cutting. Lubrication
is automatic. Never work without the chain
being lubricated regularly.
If the chain is poorly lubricated, the entire
cutting system could be seriously damaged.
It is therefore very important to regularly check
the lubrication of the chain, as well as the oil
level in the tank. Never use the pole pruner if
the oil level is below ¼ of the tank. This is why
it is best to systematically fill the oil tank before
each job to be carried out.
