Bearing system

The motor spindle is equipped with high precision spindle bearings. They provide excellent accuracy and are
optimized for operation at high speeds. The high-precision spindle bearings absorb the radial and axial forces from
the machining process backlash free.
The ball bearings have grease lubrication for life, which means they are maintenance-free and do not require
relubrication.
For information on the possible radial and axial load capacities of your motor spindle, please contact your
SycoTec representative.

Motor

The motor spindle is driven by an integrated built-in motor with high torque and low power loss.

Frequency inverter
The motor spindle may only be operated together with a suitable frequency inverter.
Check whether the voltage and frequency specifications on the motor spindle's rating plate match the
specifications of the frequency inverter.
SycoTec recommends operation with following frequency inverter type:
e@syDrive 4624, 4625, 4626 for spindles with rated voltage up to 50 V
e@syDrive TV 4538, 4638 for spindles with rated voltage over 50 V
• The parameter set in the frequency inverter must be selected based on the spindle type.
• Installation and connection by expert personnel only, in accordance with the user instructions of the
frequency inverter and the safety rules applicable on-site. Check electrical safety before operation.
• Hazards from energy supply disruptions or other failures, such as unexpected start or wrong direction of
rotation, must be ruled out by appropriate machine control protective measures.
• Depending on the design of the frequency inverter operating conditions such as motor spindle rotates,
motor spindle is stopped, motor spindle overloaded, etc. are passed on to the higher-level machine
control.
• For motors with rated voltage ≤ 50 V (rated voltage see A2 Motor overview), safe separation with
double insulation from the mains circuit between the primary and secondary windings, is required
according to EN 61800-5-1 or EN 60950.
