8. Assembly

Before mounting the TIG burner, sharpen the tungsten
electrode. For an optimal result, a tungsten electrode
grinding machine is recommended.
Ensure that the electrode is roughened lengthways and
the height of the tip is approx. double the diameter of
the electrode.
Installing the TIG burner (Fig. 4 - 8)
1.
Screw the clamping sleeve housing (19/20) into
the burner body to match the tungsten electrode
to be used.
2.
Insert the tungsten electrode (13/14) through the
clamping sleeve (17/18) and then insert the clamp-
ing sleeve into the clamping sleeve housing.
3.
Now unscrew the gas nozzle (21/22) from the
clamping sleeve.
4.
Then screw the burner cap (15/16) into the burner
body, but do not fully tighten, the electrode must be
able to move freely.
5.
Adjust the tungsten electrode so that it protrudes
approx. 5 mm from the gas nozzle.
6.
Finally, tighten the burner cap.
9.

Before commissioning

Selection button for cycle welding (23)
You can select between 2-cycle and 4-cycle welding
using the selection button for cycle welding.
Selection button for pulse and spot time (26)
You can select between pulse welding and spot time
using the selection button for pulse and spot time. (only
for TIG)
Selection button for welding process (29)
Use the welding process selection button to select the
welding process you want to use.
Potentiometer (5)
You can adjust the welding current, the Hertz and the
welding current for pulse welding using the potentiom-
eter. You can also set the time and welding current dur-
ing spot time.

10. Start up

m Attention!
Always make sure the device is fully assembled
before commissioning!
Device setting for welding with inert gas
(Fig. 9 + 10)
1
Select the TIG welding function (30) on the selec-
tion button (29).
2
Connect the gas connection (A) to the gas connec-
tion (6) and tighten the union nut.
3
Now connect the power connection for the hose
assembly (C) and tighten the union nut.
4
Then connect the cable (B) to the positive terminal.
And lock the connector by turning it clockwise.
5
Finally, connect the earth clamp (D) to the nega-
tive terminal. And lock the connector by turning it
clockwise.
Device setting for pulse welding (fig. 3)
When welding with pulse-shaped power, currents and
voltages constantly change between a low base value
and the high pulse value in the rhythm of the pulse fre-
quency. Under the influence of the high pulse current,
the weld penetration in the base material is generated
and forms a pointed weld pool. The size of the weld
pool is generally smaller than when welding with a uni-
form current so that it can be better controlled in con-
fined conditions. Nevertheless, sufficient weld penetra-
tion is guaranteed. Good gap bridging, root weld and
welding is also possible in confined conditions.
1
Select the TIG welding function (30) on the selec-
tion button (29).
2
Select the pulse function (27) on the selection but-
ton (26).
3
LED flashes, you can now adjust the Hertz (max.
20Hz)
Device setting for spot time
1
Select the TIG welding function (30) on the selec-
tion button (29).
2
Select the spot time function (28) on the selection
button (26).
• LED flashes, you can now adjust the time for the
duration of the weld penetration (max. 3s)
3
Actuate the selection button (26) once again.
• LED no longer flashes, you can now adjust the
welding current (max. 160A)
