7. BASIC FUNCTIONS OF THE MECHANIKA MAX
In the following section the various programming options of the MECHANIKA MAX will be explained.

7.1. Navigating the menu

The menu can be reached by simultaneously holding down the ▼ and ▲ buttons. Via the ▼ button you can
go through the various settings, and with the ▲ button you can chose the desired menu function. Settings
can be adjusted with the ▼ and ▲ buttons and will be automatically saved after 3 seconds; therefore,
changes to the PID controller should be made swiftly.

7.2. Operating modes

The MECHANIKA MAX has various modes for setting the optimal temperature.

You can use the settings to determine the steam temperature and thereby the pressure in the boiler for
frothing milk or the extraction temperature of the coffee in the brew head.

7.2.1. HX mode (conventional dual circuit)

When your machine is delivered it will be in standard HX mode. The machine runs in the regular dual circuit
system, so the brewing temperature is derived from the boiler temperature. Due to the design of a dual
circuit machine, it is possible that the machine requires a 'flush' (empty extraction) after a longer period of
