Problem
First use with water tank: pump
noise - the boiler is not filled
The machine is switched on, but
the machine does not work.
Little or no crema on the top of
the coffee
Sparse coffee dispensing, only
drop by drop
Weak "body"
The machine does not stop
working when there's no water in
tank and takes in air.

Possible Cause
The system is completely dry; the
pump cannot deliver the water.
Green indicator light flashes:
There is not enough water in the
fresh water tank.
Water has been refilled and the
green indicator light is off.
The water tank is not fixed
properly.
There is a permanent water
supply, but menu setting shows
"tan=on" (i.e. water tank setting).
Machine does not draw water
from the mains.
The grind is not fine enough
The coffee is too old.
There is too much chlorine in the
water.
The amount of ground coffee is
not enough.
The shower screen is dirty.
The grind is too fine.
There is too much ground coffee.
The grind is not fine enough.
The coffee is old.
The amount of ground coffee is
not enough.
The shower screen is dirty.
Water tank mode, but the menu
shows "tan=oFF" (=fixed water
position).
Troubleshooting
Connect the machine to the water
supply for initial filling (see
chapter 4.3.1) to fill the boiler
with the line pressure.
Refill water.
Switch on/off the machine.
Make sure that the floater in the
water tank is in the correct
position. (The side of the floater
with the magnet point must face
towards the inside of the
machine. The floater itself must
be inserted with the magnet point
on the lower part of the floater.)
Fix the water tank properly.
Set the menu to "tan=off" (=fixed
water setting).
Use a finer grind.
Tamp the ground coffee more
firmly.
Reduce the brewing pressure.
Use fresh coffee
Use a chlorine filter.
Use the right coffee amount:
Approx. 7 g of coffee for each
cup.
Clean the brew group.
Use a coarser grind.
Tamp ground coffee only slightly.
Increase the brewing-pressure.
Use approx. 7 g of coffee for
every cup.
Use a finer grind.
Use fresh coffee.
Use approx. 7 g of coffee for
each cup.
Clean the shower screen.
Set the menu to "tan = on".
