NOTE
Please read the instructions carefully before in-
stalling and using for the first time.
Follow the instructions.
Pass these instructions on to the owner for safe-
keeping.
Required qualifications for installation work
The ventilation unit may only be installed, set up,
retrofitted, commissioned, cleaned, maintained or
repaired by installers specialised in ventilation
technology. Electrical connection, commissioning,
maintenance and repairs may only be carried out
by a qualified electrician in accordance with
DGUV regulation 3, Section 2 (3) and in compli-
ance with the relevant standards (e.g. DIN EN
50110-1) and technical rules. Further provisions
of other national laws must be taken into account.
Qualifications/requirements: Specialist training
and knowledge of technical standards, EU Direct-
ives and EU Ordinances. Installations are to be
carried out professionally in accordance with the
planning documents and the enclosed operating
instructions. During installation, cleaning and
maintenance work, observe the applicable acci-
dent prevention regulations, occupational health
and safety measures (protective clothing in good
repair, etc.).

1 Scope of Delivery

2 Intended use

With the touchscreen operating unit, the user can
operate the ventilation unit and undertake indi-
vidual settings on it.
Numerous configuration options are available to
the specialist installer in the protected installer
area of the touchscreen operating unit.
Read the safety instructions in the installa-
tion instructions of the ventilation unit before
connecting the touchscreen operating unit to
the ventilation unit. Follow the instructions.

3 Safety instructions

WARNING Danger of electric shock.
Before working on the control, shut down all sup-
ply circuits (deactivate the mains fuse) and se-
cure so they cannot be switched back on. Attach
a clearly visible warning sign.

CAUTION Risk of injury when fans are
running.
Before removing the front cover of the ventilation
unit, wait until the fans have stopped.
CAUTION Risk of burning from hot hous-
ing parts on units with PTC heat register.
After removing the front cover, do not touch the
heat register. First wait until the heat register and
the housing parts have cooled off.
CAUTION Exercise caution when hand-
ling packaging materials.
Observe applicable safety and accident preven-
tion regulations.
Store packaging material out of the reach of chil-
dren (risk of suffocation due to swallowing).

5.1 Installing the RLS T1 SYS room air
control

5.1.1 Retrofitting touchscreen control panel

DANGER! Danger of electric shock. Before
working on the control, shut down all supply
circuits (deactivate the mains fuse) and secure
so they cannot be switched back on. Attach a
clearly visible warning sign.
CAUTION! Incorrect wiring will result in unit
damage. Be sure to note the writing on the
control unit and control circuit board. Only
connect as shown in the enclosed wiring dia-
gram.
Recommended installation location for touch-

sensor on underside
• Installation height approx. 1.5 m
• Not in direct sunlight
• Not above sources of heat
• Not in cold draughts (doors, windows)
Preparations for mounting, on site by cus-
tomer
1. Flush-mounted box at installation location.
