Installation and connection

Few simple steps are required to initially start up and configure the BVS ID. Besides the BVS ID, the following is
required:
• 24 V power supply
• 18 ... 30 V LPS Class 2 / Type 1
• Power cable
As an option:
• LAN cable
• PC with web browser
• I/O Light cable
• I/O Light
As an option while using IO-Link:
• IO-Link master for connection and supply (for example the BNI series from Balluff)

NOTE
Operating the BVS

Establish a connection with the BVS ID

1. Connect the BVS ID via the IIoT port with the network or via IO-Link (using der Power I/O cable; see 2.).
2. Connect the power supply at the Power port with the power supply (24 V).
The BVS ID starts up and is operational after approx. 100 seconds.
At the start, the BVS ID opens the most recently opened inspection program and executes the inspection (=
Monitor mode. More information about the Monitor mode can be found in the configuration guide of the BVS ID
on the Balluff website and on the BVS ID).
Depending on the network topology, different network settings must be made. In a company network or in a
production facility, IP address are generally fixed.

NOTE
The BVS ID is shipped with the fixed IP address 192.168.10.2 (Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0). For
the firewall setting, Port 80 should be enabled.
I.e. the PC which should communicate with the BVS ID and which is used to configure the BVS ID,
must have a 192.168.10.x IP address.
